One of my son's favorite toysAug 18, 2010 This is a fantastic baby toy--I picked it up at a sample sale and am SO glad I did. Each of the veggies has a slightly different sound/texture to keep things interesting. It has been one of my 11 month old's favorite toys for months, and it is one we will hold on to for sure for visiting babies even after he outgrows it :).
Friend's baby loves it!Aug 16, 2010 I bought this for my friend's baby's first birthday. My 2 1/2 year old and 5 year old played with it with my friend's baby for a long time. It's pretty amazing how simple toys will captivate them! When my friend's baby gets older, she can pretend to shop with her mama!
Waaay CuteAug 14, 2010 I bought this for my granddaughter who is too young (6 months) but she does love to watch and touch and feel. Well made. I love it.
Little Shopper BagAug 11, 2010 I purchased this for my 14m at the time daughter for our plane ride to Houston from Seattle and was shocked at how long she played with it. Like 2 hours straight! There was so many things we could do with the toys, we took them out, put them back in, we hid each under our shirts or under hats, we put the bag on her head, rolled the toys in our laps/down the aisle - it was endless.
Sadly we lost the banana and orange and only came back with the milk, lettuce, bag and apple. :( I almost want to buy a new set to get all the toys back.
She loves this toy and I love it! :)
OK, but overshadowed by Melissa and Doug picnic basketApr 22, 2010 I'm not sure why I bought this as well as the Melissa and Doug picnic basket toy, but it's of much less interest to my baby, because the sandwich which she so adores dismantling in that picnic basket has no equivalent in this toy, and that frustrates her - the cabbage can't be dismantled etc. She does like the musical chiming...radish/carrot (not sure which it is!), and occasionally looks at other pieces, but in general it's just less interesting to her.
I'm thinking of giving it away.
Consider the picnic basket instead. It also has an advantage over this toy because its parts are machine washable, and the parts of this toy are not. By the way, the criticisms I've read of M and D toys recently only seem to apply to their wooden toys (paint flaking etc) not these plush toys.
(I have no commercial affiliation with M and D)
