 Very Disappointed! Didn't Work Well At All!Mar 10, 2010
I was so excited for my son to get this for Christmas. It seemed totally cool, and I had seen it in many stores, etc. However, the excitement we all had shared so quickly disappeared. Despite all our attempts, we just couldn't get it to work well. We tried toys, food, magazines, candy, etc., but we couldn't capture any good images on our TV. It was a total waste of money and quickly discarded to a closet. I'm not sure if we just got a defective one, but I would not recommend this toy at all. It simply didn't work.
 Much Better than the Uncle Milton Digital TV MicroscopeJan 28, 2010
I used to use an Uncle Milton Digital TV Microscope in my classes at school. We would use it look closely at various sample of items we studied in Science (like rocks, minerals, fingerprints, plants, etc.).
I recently bought an EyeClops and I was blown away. It works SOOOOOO much better than the digital TV microscope. Images with the EyeClops were, without a doubt, ,so much clearer than they were with the otehr microscope. I'm not sure if it is because more lights used with the EyeClops or not. We have looked at so many other things now in class with our EyeClops - skin, hair, and - our favorite - cuts on hands and arms - the kids love seeing these blown up 200 times larger than they are.
The price is also very reasonable - I paid around $40 for the EyeClops and I paid close to $70 for the inferior Uncle Milton product.
I have already recommended that every grade level in our school should have one of these ready to use!

This toy is nothing but crap. My son used his birthday money to buy this toy and it did not work as advertised on TV. He tried desperately to get the images to show on the TV screen just like the ones from the commercials. It didn't happen. His father and I had a hard time getting this to work as shown on TV as well. Couldn't do it either. The only view that came in as scene on TV was when my husband pressed the eye clops against his chin to look at his whiskers. I would not recommend this toy for children. It offered hours of frustration, not hours of education.

I bought this for when my grand children and nieces and nephews visit. Their ages range from 2 1/2 to 18. They ALL loved the EyeClops! We looked at fabric, bugs, dust, onion skins, food, our skin, the cats' hair and so much more. The kids were mesmerized and each took a turn looking at something they chose to view. Even the most flighty of the kids was glued to the images on the screen and we all talked and interacted and learned. I had my computer next to the tv and we looked up about skin cells, dust, bugs and all. Several hours passed quickly and the kids didn't want to stop for dinner. I highly recommend the EyeClops for hours of educational fun!

This is a great toy for kids that want a microscope (which are not fun to use). You will find yourself grabbing it out of your kid's hands to play with it yourself.
It is hard to focus and the 200x setting is worthless.
That being said, I would recommend the toy to any inquisitive child.
Adults can use it to look at jewelry, coins and other small things.
