JoyApr 08, 2010 This is fun and bright, my three year old loves it. After a year and a half of use some of the paint is starting to chip off. Over all a great toy!
Great Toy!Feb 02, 2010 My 20 month old loves to play with this toy. He enjoys putting all the shapes back on just as much as he enjoys tipping it upside down and watching them all fall off. He also enjoys sorting them by color. He hasn't figured out how to fit the square blocks together yet, so when he puts them back on they don't always all fit on, but I am sure he will figure it out soon enough.
It is all wood (no plastic) which is great & I am sure it will hold up well. The shapes often get dropped/tossed onto the base and other toys and so far not even a scratch on them.
no paint issuesDec 11, 2009 I received this toy today (12/11/09). I was concerned because of other reviews stating that the blocks stuck together from a poor paint job. I am happy to report that the paint job is fine and no pieces are sticking together.
I understand concerns about the posts that stick up and would suggest using without the base for kids who aren't stable enough yet. I preferred this version to the standard plastic baby one since instead of just allowing for standard stacking, this toy also helps kids learn how to fit different shapes together and sort by size, shape or color. When my daughter was young enough to need the baby version, she had no ability to stack so I skipped the baby one. She's now 15mo's old and ready for the better wooden one. I'm glad I waited.

Great design, abysmal fabricationNov 06, 2009 Quality control on the product is nil. Had to return item because the parts were assembled with wet paint, so ALL of them stuck together--required a knife to separate and all of them ended up with severely chipped paint. The replacement was worse. DON'T BUY IT. A shame, because the design is great--its more complex than other versions. But stick with the better ones--Plan Toys for instance.

Horrible toy, please don't buySep 11, 2009 The toy was made in a very bad condition. All the wood blocks stuck to each other. It took me a while to separate them. The results are the painting is off or stayed in another block's surface. The toy is completely ruined. The wood and painting are in very poor quality. The smell of the wood is very wield. Anyway, please trust me, please don't buy this toy!!!!!!!
