t rex puzzleJan 18, 2010 this puzzle with its shape was very hard for a 4 year old. his papaw helped him and they glued it to a board for his room, and said they would never work it again. probably for a child about 7.
my son loves thisSep 20, 2009 This puzzle is virtually indestructible, just like all the other Melissa and Doug puzzles we have invested in. I saw invested, because I have always felt they are a little pricey for the size and number of pieces, but we keep buying them because they have survived my four and two year olds walking on them, chewing on them, etc. Other puzzles we have bought are bent or torn and do not go together very well anymore. When we bought this for him two years ago, we took a picture of him laying next to it on the floor and he was no taller than the puzzle. If you are looking for puzzles that can withstand the full destructive force of two young children, then do not question the price, it is well worth it.
Can't believe the other reviewsAug 17, 2009 Has anyone who reviewed this actually done the puzzle? My son (almost 3) is excellent at doing puzzles and we have to make an effort to find puzzles that are challenging enough for him. This puzzle however, is an exercise in frustration. Two of the perimeter pieces do not lock into the adjoining pieces. You need to find the adjacent piece to make the three pieces fit together. When he tried to do this puzzle he went through every single piece trying to fit it only for me to realize that there is no piece that fits in, only one that you place next to it. I find this to be a major negative in a puzzle designed for children.
Fun!Feb 13, 2007 We have fun putting these puzzles together with our grandsons. They're a little tough for the 3 year old, but he'll get the hang of it before long. They're nice and thick material, so if we don't lose the pieces, they'll last a long time. We highly recommend them.

Excellent quality and the kids love it!Jan 11, 2007 My 4-year-old son got this puzzle as a gift, and he loves it. He likes it as a take-along activity (anywhere the floor is clean enough to play), and even took it to his daycare for show-and-tell. His cousin (age 4) looks for it when he comes over, so I bought him this and another Melissa and Doug puzzle. These are high-quality, sturdy puzzles - the best I've seen.
